PTBBA occurs as colourless acicular crystal or crystallize powder with the melting point 164.5～165.5℃.It is soluble in ethanol and benzene, insoluble in water.It is used in organic synthesis.The product shall be sealed to preserve.
PTBBA is used as organic synthesis intermediates, nucleating agent for polypropylene, PVC heat stabilizer, metalworking cutting and lubricating oil additives, antioxidant, alkyd resin modifier, solder flux, and dyes.
It is also called 4-tbba; p-tert-butylbenzoic acid; 4-t-butylbenzoic acid; p-t-butylbenzoic acid Para Tertiary Butyl Benzoic Acid.
