unitshine-akd-flakeAKD (Alkyl Ketene Dimer) Wax is obtained from  fatty acids (C>12) which is via acylation and dehydrochlorination, which is a kind of fiber reactive neutral sizing agent, with high content of effective component, high iodine value and low acidity. It is an efficient sizing agent, especially suitable for the environmental protection requirements.

AKD is recognized with excellent water resistance performance as the alkyl chain of higher fatty acids. As the basic sizing agent, AKD has been widely used in paper-making industry as emulsion.

AKD Wax can be used as pulp sizing and surface sizing to many kinds of paper, such as cultural paper, paperboard, newsprint paper, board, fruit bag paper and wrapping paper.

Apparently AKD is white or slight yellow tablet or flake.
